Geek Chic Cosmetics just re-opened and are having a 20% off Labor of Love sale which is on everything until midnight Tuesday 6th September. In honour of that, I thought I might tempt you all with swatches!
I was sent samples ages ago to swatch for Geek Chic, and they've been incredibly patient and lovely even though it takes me forever to do anything. They've brought out tons of amazing stuff since then, several new eyeshadow collections inspired by, among others, Star Trek and Game of Thrones, and they have lip products I'm drooling over, especially the tinted Bio Balms.
I'm also absolutely delighted to announce that Geek Chic recently bought a postage scale and thus will be working on introducing non-flat rate shipping, both domestic and international, in the near future. There's no firm date but it should be in place before the Cyber Monday sale (end of November for the non-Americans!). This means you can expect a lot more GCC swatches and reviews from me to come!
Blahblah, okay. On with the swatch pr0n!
Ambassador was the odd one out, so Inara got a shuttle swatch all to herself. Newb looks yellowish, but it's actually a soft neutral with an amazing buttery finish and slight sheen, it's my favourite neutral lid colour. Unfortunately Oath Keeper is now discontinued.
My favourites are:
- Where's The Mountain Brew?
- Newb
- Very Fine Hat
- Booze 'R' Us
- Little Albatross
- Love of the Uniform
- Chosen One
- Inevitable Betrayal
- Tame This
- Shammy
- Glass Cannon
- Fear Bomb
- Vector
- Katamari King
- Blood Bond
- You Have A Destiny
- Drood
- Ambassador
If you shop the sale, let me know what you get! Oh, and if you buy anything because of the blog, if you note it in checkout then it ultimately helps me (and thus, you) get things like reader-exclusive discount codes and other fun stuff!

6 September 2011 10:06Preeeetty...is Blood Bond a true red or is it more brickish like it looks here?
6 September 2011 13:42Star Trek & Mario stuff? NOW you're talking!
6 September 2011 15:29This is fabulous! I adore Geek Chic, and own many of their shadows, but have been having a hard time picking my next batch(which I intend to order today). This just made up my mind for me! Seeing the colors laid next to one another really makes each one stand out. Thanks for the lovely swatches!
6 September 2011 15:39Thanks for posting this! I've been waiting for them to come back to I could try them out. I ordered a Biobalm in Little Sister, Joysticks in Once Bitten and Newb, a Plains shadow, as well as the Hardcore Brow Trio (which includes Mana Battery, What's Under the Helmet, and Katamari King. I can't wait to try it all out.
6 September 2011 15:41Ooh, non-flat-rate shipping at GCC? Because I WANT their new color, Riddle Me This, SO BAD, but $5 shipping for a single eyeshadow? Not worth it, to me. :-/
6 September 2011 18:50@Femputer - They're all pretty accurate, it is as it appears here. It actually looks exactly like dried blood to me, a little on the brickkish brown side and really deep. I think their Mountain and N7 are the closest to true reds.
6 September 2011 19:50I was trying to make a list of my favorites, such as Blood Bond, Humanity's Children, Viking King and so forth, but realized I love them all in their own special way.
6 September 2011 20:30OMG. These swatches are just to die for. Thank you, you've made it a lot easier for me to make my next Geek Chic shopping list! :)
6 September 2011 23:23oh my goodness, those look to good to be true.

7 September 2011 18:47Missed the sale but saved the site for later! Those swatches--NOM NOM NOM! Esp the forest/peacock greens *dies* I rarely see a full collection where I'd love almost everything--they did it!

9 September 2011 15:44Just first wanted to say I just found your blog recently and I'm loving it. You're a girl after my own heart. I'm a Aion/Pokemon player who is happy to not be a girl considered as 'one of the guys' :P
