My Fyrinnae haul arrived, along with the Christmas gift from Robin (thank you!) and I did a happy little squeal. I'll update this post with swatches later today, but I just couldn't wait to share my happy =D
There's 32 eyeshadow samples in all (including a custom request one made just for meeee), and 5 full-sized Arcane Magic eyeshadows, and 2 mini Lip Lustres.
Dressed to Kill & Dragonskin look similar, but Dragonskin has stronger interference and Dressed to Kill has a sparklier finish. Wicked is WAY more awesome in person & Delvian more purple sparkle/interference. Digital Faerie has more interference, too, and Dragon's Wing is brighter and metallic-y.
My custom shade I requested! It's a gorgeous pale green highlight with pink sparkle. I wanted something similar to Archetype's Weeping Willow, and although it's more of a yellow-green, I actually prefer it. Thanks, #2!
Arcane Magic Eyeshadows
These actually change colour based on their proximity to an artificial lightsource. It's really hard to photograph these accurately, they're just so beautiful in person.
These are all my Arcane Magics - under normal light.
Close to a daylight-bulb lamp. Sorceress goes a dark purple, as does Faerie Glamour. It's really hard to photograph the different colours these go - you have to try them.
Under fluorescent strip-light.
And the ones I already had.
All swatched over Fyrinnae's incredible Pixie Epoxy, by the way, which I can't recommend highly enough. My favourites so far are: Faerie Glamour, Otherworld, 1.22 Gigawatts, Cheshire Cat Smile, Looking Glass, Shallow Sleep, Delvian, Bali Mynah, Aristocrat, Curiouser And Curiouser, Dragonskin, Dragon's Wing, Immortality. Sorceress, Digital Faerie, Archmage, and naturally, my custom shadow.
I couldn't be happier - and I've got another $35 order on the way! Eeeee! Still to arrive: Sleepy Hollow, Parental Advisory, Neo Universe, Tabloid, The Staggering Sailor, Damn Paladins, Beholder, Polar Bear, Winter, Again, Fyre & Ice, Professional Colors: Chrome, Arcane Magic: Farseer, Arcane Magic: Mystic, Android Angel, Javan Rhino, Strip Poker, Lucky Charmed.
I made a wishlist on Fyrinnae last night, and even if I get sample sizes of everything on it, it's still over $150. Whew.

There's a ton I still want, as the wishlist indicates. I think my swatches look pretty good, and the eyeshadows still look 10x better in person. I've got another order on the way, woo! I still have all the jars arranged on my desk. I have UD Shattered, too, but I don't have it with me... but it's worth owning +20 Beautification for the name alone!

I placed an order a few days ago, so I probably won't place one again for a while (hopefully) but your swatches did add a few new ones to my wishlist (mental wishlist for now until I unscatter my brain enough to go to the site and actually add them to the wishlist).. But I like Frogs, Aristocrat, Bali Mynah, and my god I want your custom color that is awesome. Don't you just love Warrior Mage, I think it's my new fav. I will need a full size of that one soon. Sorry for rambling, I get really excited by sparkles.

6 January 2010 00:44So how it looks to me... it's similar in base colour to tattletale, but brighter, and has similar sparkle to fierce, but more blue sparklies and its interference is brighter giving it a slightly bluer metallic sheen.
All in all, it's similar to all three purples, but I think it's nicer than all of them.
Damn...it is very similar. Im sure it is gorgeous but I hate when I do that to myself. I really need to not order without consulting what I have already :/

I'm so glad you're expanding your collection of Fyrinnae! Your 2009 round-up convinced me to place an order on 1/1. It was your thoughts on About Face Cosmetics that really hit home. I have a lot of their items and when I use them I think, "Am I doing this wrong? Why does everything run off my face (or never properly get on in the first place)?! *runs back to Stila/MAC/UD*" I am VERY excited to try Fyrinnae so it can renew my faith in small online makeup companies!

Faux, all the About Face hype astounds me. What the hell are people raving about? It's cheap, diluted, sheer crap. I can generally get good pigmentation out of ANYTHING and these were useless.

7 January 2010 11:47Can I ask, how colour-changing is you Wizard's Apprentice? I was startled by the effect of the other Arcanes I have (Faerie Glamour, Dark Fantasy, Avian Shapeshifter) but the Wizard just remains an unshifting silvery light blue, in any light. I don't see any green or lavender in it. It's not a disappointment, as it's a fine color as it is and I don't have owt too similar. I wanted to check how it looks for others, cos if it's significantly different from mine I might chase up Fyrinnae about it. (I didn't want to leave a middling review for it and then find out it's supposed to be much more impressive.)
