EOTD: At Journey's End.

This is my current favourite EOTD, all using Aromaleigh eyeshadows. Considering I just raved about them, I figured I'd show you all why. This EOTD uses three of my favourite ever greens, including Estranged, which is my absolute favourite. I love the name, as well as the colour, because it's totally me and I've been estranged from my family (bar my brother) for several years.

Estranged - my perfect acid green, and Greenhell, my perfect grass green.

I did this same look last Friday, after pulling an all-nighter to finish off University work, sitting on a train for six hours, eventually getting home that evening and crashing out on the sofa. I was too tired to take it off, and it survived without smudging, creasing, or fading (I had to touch up the liner on my waterline) for over 24 hours.

The rest of me looked like crap, though, so I recreated it the following day to photograph it. Bizarrely, this EOTD has what I think is my first ever in-focus photograph! Go camera-phone (Sony Ericsson K770i for those who wanted to know).

At Journey's End - Step-By-Step

This looks a lot simpler in the photographs than it did in reality. C'est la vie, that's always the way.

  • Prime lids. I used a MAC Paint Pot in Painterly, and I apply it all the way up to the eyebrow.

  • Wet your shader brush (MAC 239 or GOSH Flat Eyeshadow) with mixing medium and foil (apply wet) Estranged all over the lid, using the dab-and-pat method. Wipe the brush off, and re-apply Estranged dry over the top, to ensure there are no gaps.

  • Using a stiff-dome brush (MAC 217) shade Greenhell in the crease and the outer-V, blending it into Estranged. Bring this up toward the brow-bone.

  • Using either another stiff-domed brush, or something smaller (I used the Revlon Contour Shadow brush), deepen the crease with Ozone.

  • With a pencil brush (MAC 219, GOSH Round Eyeshadow) highlight along the brow-bone with Unicorn (L'Orchidee Collection), a pale yellow with violet duo-chrome, and blend out the edge of Greenhell/Ozone using it.

  • Highlight the inner-corner and inner-corner of the lower lashline with Unicorn and the same brush.

  • Use a lighter highlight colour (I use Sleek's shimmery white from their Safari/Curiosity/Graphite palette) to highlight just under the highest point of the eyebrow arch.

  • With a pencil/thin brush, apply Estranged on the lower lashline, covered with Greenhell.

  • Line the upper lashline & waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero.

  • Prime lashes with Urban Decay Eyelash Primer and top off with a few coats of Bourjois Liner Effect mascara, followed by L'Oreal Telescopic.

And done! Eyebrows use Illamasqua brow cake in Thunder. This is my current go-to look, replacing the very similar one I achieved with Beauty From the Earth minerals, which isn't as bright.

Thanks Michelle! Aren't they just? I can't stress how much I love those greens, haha. I was sitting here swatching them on the back of my hand over and over.

O.O *flips through sample binder* I need to place an order for greenhell and Unicorn now! This would look amazing with my new purple lipstick... Thank you! Its always nice to see some rocks love, sometimes I think it gets overlooked with all the new collections Aromaleigh releases.

I need to order myself a sample binder!
Greenhell is lovely in person, gorgeous bright, matte-ish grass green. Unicorn is my perfect highlight colour for looks like this, when I don't want to detract from the brightness by using white to highlight. It didn't show up much on the picture, but it's a lovely colour to own - and permanent, now!

Yummy! I love this- especially the Estranged. I have sworn myself off of buying shadows for the moment, since I really have no reason to buy any right now (I have sooooo many, and don't really go out, so...)

I may have to order some samples sometime though, these look incredible! I can always review them on my bog and then put them into my kit- how's that for justification? :)

Thank you Jessica! Rofl, that doesn't stop me. 500 and counting, go go go! More eyshadows. 250 for each eye.

And yes, you have a kit. See, that's a reason. You need stuff. For the kit. Yes.

Isn't estranged wonderful? Oh, it's sexiness in a pot. I'd spread it on toast and eat it, I love it so much. <3

Aren't they just, Gio? I feel like this is the same kind of look I've done OVER AND OVER, but I still love it every time.

Mine too, Ella. I'll be hoarding jars of it come doomsday, as well. I think I'd take most of my Rocks! collection in a fire...
