Salmon spread.

No one understands the thought pattern behind my post titles, do they? They make sense in my head. Really.

Between long-distance University, still searching for housing so I can get back to actually attending University, finishing up projects and fun, sticky, emotional stuff, my blog's getting neglected. But I took some pretty pictures of Colchester, the town I'm staying in with my brother (England's oldest town. There were Romans here. Totally.) so I thought I'd share those and give you all a bit of a list of what's coming up, in the hope that you'll bear with me.

I take all my photographs for the blog with a phone camera, so forgive my poor photography.

So that's a little bit of Colchester. There's some kind of pretty-looking-building which is actually a restaurant, I think, bits of the park, and Colchester's castle. Which, admittedly, isn't great, but hey, it's a castle.

So I mentioned getting back to the regular blogging schedule and here's the insane list of things I have queued:

  • Sassy Minerals product review
  • Clynol Salon Hair Care product review
  • SnapIt Screen Capture software review
  • Champions Online MMORPG review
  • Windows 7 review (this is going to be less exhaustive review, more 'look what I can do' because I'm too much a layman to really get into evaluating an OS)
  • Aromaleigh eyeshadow review (varying collections & formulas)
  • Purely Cosmetics review (and some exceptional customer service)
  • Lime Crime lipstick review
  • A great many TKB Trading pure mica swatches
  • Clinique Moisture Surge review
  • Clinique High Impact mascara review
  • Stargazer lipstick review & swatches
  • A horrific number of hauls, including MAC & companies listed above
  • Guinot Créme Red Logic review (maybe holy-grail territory, here)
  • Revlon brush review (a cheap dupe for the MAC 217 to join the GOSH dupes?)
  • Pigment/Loose Powder & Foiling Tutorial
  • Many EOTDs (from the companies above, considering I gotta try 'em to test 'em!)
  • My MAC make-over & tips the MUA taught me
  • Eyeshadow Primer Comparisons (Urban Decay Primer Potion, Smashbox Photofinish, MAC PaintPots & similar)
  • More giveaways (I'll be posting several at once to make up for the dry-spell)
  • Illamasqua product & customer service review
  • Barry M Lipstick review
  • Urban Decay "Other Primers" review (lip primer, lash primer, both face primers)

There's probably a lot more, but this is everything that comes to mind right now. If you know what you'd like to see first, comment and tell me! Same goes for any other post suggestions, too, or if you just want to yell at me for not posting.

Sassy is next up on the list - I've already done one EOTD with them so I feel like I have a pretty good handle on how the shadows work, but I had I few issues with them I want to test out by trying a different technique since their texture is totally different than I'm used to.

Thanks for hanging in there with me! <3

Cheater! You only know 'cause I explained it!

Hell even my brother doesn't understand my post titles and he's biologically similar.

Mind if I come live with you? It looks so beautiful there. I'm excited for your reviews and your up coming hauls. I hope your emotional stuff is getting better. *hugs*

You're welcome to come live with me, Pix (if you don't mind sleeping on a hammock) but only if you write my blog for me! <.< I'll eat skittles and play video-games.

Sassy Minerals review! I can't wait for that one! I LOVE their base, it's probably the best one I've ever used.

Well that's a very pretty place you live in! Seriously!

I am totally looking forward to reading everything you read, but my heart can's chose between a windows 7 review (I'm a Mac girl but I'm curious) and cosmetics reviews :-)

I am looking forward to everything, but I'm particularly interested in what you have to say about Lime Crime and Stargazer lipsticks!

I'm sorry things are still not too great, here's to hoping things improve soon!

Careful what you say about LC.

Yeah, I think it's bull as well.

I can't believe you took those with a camera phone, hell they're better than anything I take with my Canon point and shoot, LOL!

Looking forward to seeing all of those future posts :D

I just used Sassy stuff in today's look, Sagu, so I should be able to post up two EOTDs for them.

I've never used a formula like theirs before so had to practice a bit to adapt my technique to make 'em work, but you'll read all about that tomorrow =D

Thanks Photosynthesia =D As phone cameras go it's a decent one - Sony Ericsson k770i - but still doesn't hold up against good digital cameras. It gets me by, though!

You won't have to choose, Muse! I'm loving Windows 7, I have to say, but my review of it will likely be pretty shallow - features rather than getting into the technical stuff.

I also never tried Vista - so I've gone straight from XP to Windows 7, it's a big step up.

Kirsty - in a nutshell I can say I'm pretty much on the same page that Grey is about LC lipsticks, and that Great Pink Planet is almost identical to MAC Saint Germain, but slightly duller and with a less opaque formula.

I'm wearing a Barry M one which is my new favourite pastel pink right now, so that'll be reviewed, too.

Phoenix - Yeah, I know, Grey's a buddy and I've got her on AIM so she told me about it when it happened.

I've yet to be threatened by any company, but I live overseas and I qualify for free legal aid - so it wouldn't cost me a penny.

I'll come live with you, too. I can sleep in a garden shack :> Places like that town of yours are filled with garden shacks, I'm sure. And gnomes. And rose bushes.

I'm eagerly awaiting for my Sassy order, can't wait to hear what you think!

Thanks Small Town! I like photography but it's not something I particularly know anything about. Like I told Photosynthesia though, it's a decent camera phone as they go.

Anastasia said...

You people and your comments, making me reveal things early, Saila!

Preliminary on Sassy? Unique, they have some beautiful and complex colours without obnoxious glitter, but not totally nub-friendly. The formula takes adapting to - but so does anything with complex shimmer. Definitely worth trying, but invest in a sticky base & practice.

17 November 2009 16:43

Anastasia said...

Oh, and-- I don't think we have any kind of garden shack. But there's space under the table. Just don't chew the wires. *Smacks* NO. No chewing the wires!

She got a threatening e-mail from them telling her they were going to sue her and she had to remove all her posts referencing them and publish a retraction and apology.

She did.

Then they e-mailed her again telling her that apology wasn't good enough and giving her one to repeat, verbatim.

17 November 2009 17:06

katherine said...

In that case, I plan on emailing LC and informing them why I have decided to never purchase any makeup from them.

17 November 2009 17:09

Anastasia said...

Yep - they actually gave her something to say AFTER she apologised and threatened her with litigation if she didn't repeat it word-for-word. Disgusting.

I’m beginning to think YOU’RE the internet bully, Xenia. Grey didn’t deserve to have her posts removed. http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:-UI6wsYyzgYJ:gothique.wordpress.com/2009/11/04/lime-crime-lipstick-a-review/+lime+crime+lipstick+review&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us"

moderate my comment, but i’m not backing down. i’m very hurt that a blogger i trusted would turn out so shady."

You probably hit on some keywords they have set to automatically moderate, or perhaps it's just that you posted an outside URL.

Try posting the first, original message again without the URL? ;x

I wouldn't be surprised if there are keywords.

I used TKB in one comment and it was moderated. Then again, I also had a link.

Did everything arrive alright, Anastasia?

Wow, those were taken with a phone? What kind of phone do you have? I also have to say I totally geeked out when I saw you were going to do a Champions Online review, because I've been thinking of trying it. I applied for the beta but was never chosen. I do play City of Heroes now though. And will you be addressing Lime Crime's latest activities? Seems she isn't taking the criticism lying down anymore. Maybe you should do more comparisons between her stuff and TKB, and also compare the LC and Stargazer lipsticks, since I heard they're very similar.

You have been quiet and I am excited for some new material!
