The idea for this look was provided by one of my readers and friends, Jaimi, who mentioned that she had long wanted to do a look based on World of Warcraft's Undercity, something "Dark, purpley and smoky, with some acid green thrown in". So, naturally, I stole her idea because I thought it was awesome, and did this corrosive look.
Her inspiration (she was mine) - Undercity in World of Warcraft.

It looked a lot brighter in person.

Eyes
This looks really nice on, I love the pop that the Acid Rain liner gives me, it seems to really widen my eyes and I still get the nice sultry drama of a dark, dramatic smoky look. I'm really digging the purple lip, too, which is much more vibrant in reality. The UD lip primer means NYX lipsticks finally go smooth onto my lips instead of showing up every flaw underneath, and the Illamasqua gloss is a stunning opaque purple that I have to use pretty sparingly due to its rich pigmentation.
- Prime lids. I used Smashbox Photo Finish Lid primer all over, including the lower lashline and up to the eyebrow.
- Apply Beauty from the Earth in Rome all over the lid, wet, using a flat shader (GOSH flat/MAC 239) brush. Dry the brush and re-apply dry over the top for more coverage.
- Using a stiff dome brush (MAC 217) shade TKB Trading Black Amethyst over the outer-V and crease, darkening the lid colour.
- Using a pencil (GOSH round, MAC 219) brush, darken around the outer-V and crease in a C shape (on your left eye it's a C, on the right it's inverted) stroking inward toward the lid with TKB Trading Blackstar Red.
- With the same brush, use a sparing amount of matte black eyeshadow (I used the one from the Sleek Storm palette) to further darken the crease and outer-edge of the eyelid.
- Apply TKB Trading Black Amethyst under the lower-lashline, smoking it out towards the outer-V.
- Use a clean brush for highlighting (I prefer MAC 275 or the GOSH Round e/s brush) and use your normal highlight colour to thoroughly blend out the Black Amethyst & matte black above the crease toward the brow-bone.
- Highlight more carefully the highest point of the brow using a lighter highlight shade. (As ever, I use MAC Malt and Sleek's shimmery white from the Safari/Curiosity palette)
- Re-apply Black Amethyst using your 217 brush above the crease as necessary to get the right degree of smoky blending above the eye.
- Line the waterline with black (UD 24/7 in Zero), then using a pencil brush apply a little of the pencil eyeliner to the brush. Carefully smudge it along the lower lashline, smudging it out as you go to get a smoky black effect. If it goes too far (mine did), simply use some highlighter shade on a different brush underneath to tidy it up. You can also tidy with concealer.
- Apply Urban Decay liquid liner in Acid Rain to the upper lashline.
- See to your lashes. I used Urban Decay lash primer, Bourjois liner effect mascara and L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion over the top.
- Exfoliate & condition lips so they're super-smooth. I use a cheapie little exfoliating glove and ordinary cheap lip balm instead of an expensive lip scrub.
- Apply Urban Decay lip primer all over the lips.
- Apply NYX round lipstick in Aphrodite.
- Top it off with Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Fury.

FOR THE HORDE!!
3 September 2009 22:57I really like this, I am definately going to have to try and get some of these mineral pigments!
4 September 2009 00:17I love this you're so talented and I love love love your hair!
4 September 2009 01:49Amazing! I love the Acid Rain liner on you. It DOES make your eyes pop without giving up the smokiness.
4 September 2009 02:00You should do a Silvermoon look...for all the blood elf girls *cough* me *cough*. Bright, sparkly and magical (and a wee bit slutty lol)! (am I a loser or what?)
Lmaooo Grey. I used to play as a human until they brought out Blood Elves, then I was one of the horde.
4 September 2009 03:16Totally Jo. I was actually swatching my TKB ones versus my Beauty from the earth to find comparisons, which is how I discovered that Rome is a really nice colour. Sadly I don't have a TKB version of that yet, but that's not to say there isn't one.
4 September 2009 03:18Yet again though, I had no problems in using any of the TKB minerals at all.
Awwh thank you Aleksis! I was really pleased with how it turned out (props to Jaimi for the idea!) and extra pleased that I got to use my Acid Rain liner, which has gone overlooked for so long.
4 September 2009 03:18Thank you Lisa :3 I'm pleased since normally, as you'll probably know, I'm a black eyeliner type of girl. It's nice to venture out on a limb and be pleasantly surprised.
4 September 2009 03:19A blood elf look is definitely in the works since they're my favourite race.
Me too! I can't help it. When I started playing the only other person I knew was a dranei, but I wanted to be a blood elf! Sucks now cause I don't know anybody who plays and Horde is terrible on my server.
4 September 2009 04:09Hmm...now I might have to steal this idea from you, who stole it from someone else! I want to be a blood elf. Perhaps for stupid Labor Day barbecues we are being forced to go to?
I love the green on you! It's a great contrast with the rest of the eye and your hair.
4 September 2009 15:08Now I'm just gonna sit here and think of other areas that need a look made out of them, k? *grin* (Maybe I'll even try them out on my face!)
I began playing before the first expansion, and was human and then a night elf, but I prefer blood elves for vanity's sake, and I love their starting place.
4 September 2009 17:07I don't play WoW anymore, though, since I prefer Guild Wars, but I might give it another try someday. Unfortunately with all the expansions playing it now seems like a very costly option.
Thank youuu :3 and thank you for the idea x] Definitely think of more :3
4 September 2009 17:08I certainly want to see these tried on you!
Me love it, it's gorgeous!!!!!
4 September 2009 18:58The best part about Silvermoon City:
4 September 2009 19:08The magic brooms. I want one!
Thanks Mariella! I just cleaned my brushed and am thinking of a look to do now...
4 September 2009 19:13I've got blood elves on the brain, Jaimi. I wish I still had WoW installed so I could refresh my memory of the colours.
4 September 2009 19:13love this! And I'm really liking your hair color too! You're enticing me to get some TKB micas, as if I need any more makeup right now! Keep posting your pretty face, I love to see what you come up with!
4 September 2009 20:21Thanks Jessica x] I went around TKB adding stuff to my wishlist today... $73 including shipping x.x;;; I'm going to wait to see what my fairy godmother sends me x]
5 September 2009 02:35I love my hair colour, although I wish it were a bit more vibrant v.v
Wow Ana, this is gorgeous, I love it! I love the green eyeliner, it's a nice contrast with the purple and makes your eyes pop.
5 September 2009 18:43Ana, next time I log in I'll remember to take screenshots for you!
5 September 2009 22:35Thanks Gio! I might wear this to work tomorrow :] I think I'll do the purple a wee bit brighter this time, though.
6 September 2009 00:06Oooh good, Jaimi. I've been thinking about the blood elf look and can't decide whether to do their actual eyes, and a kinda shaped slutty green look, or go with blood elfy colours - red, orange/pink and yellow.
6 September 2009 00:06I love how you brightlined here!
7 September 2009 02:13I'm sorry I'm late to comment, still at the con.
Haha, brightlined, is that a word? Cool. Thank you dearie :3 and you should be enjoying the con, not blogging!
7 September 2009 15:23Oh, this is amazing. I'd love to see a Silvermoon look, too, though I suppose I'll always be a Darnassus girl at heart ;)
