The Internet Is For Lulz

I've been feeling increasingly cynical and irked lately. Maybe it's the heat. Quite metaphorical, really, the heat wave has been getting hotter and hotter, frustrating the hell out of me. I hate the sun, and have been desperately waiting for it to break into a big, lovely storm to wash all the crap out and make it a more reasonable temperature. Like my mood.

Most people think that's weird. Hating the sun, customers at work say things like "ooh, it is hot, but we mustn't complain". Yes, we must. If you can sit perfectly still in your room, windows open, minimally clothed, and sweat, then it's a safe bet that it's too fucking hot.

Also, at work on Sunday a guy had an epileptic fit on the shop floor, which I was really unprepared for. He's fine now, don't worry.

Done some more looks but don't have any prepared EOTDs at the moment, so I thought I'd share some stuff which is just awesome in this one.

Things You Should Be Using The Internet For

1. Zero Punctuation

Yahtzee, a fast-talking Brit living in Australia, is famous for his critical, fast-paced game reviews and very high standards. His videos are hellishly funny, even if you have no idea what the game is, and we could all do with a healthy dose of cynicism and derision from time to time, right?

Enjoy his review of The Sims 3, which perfectly emulates my feelings on the game series. (Not work-safe)

2. Songs To Wear Pants To

Andrew is the 21st Centuary one-man-band. He makes songs entirely by himself based on requests (both paid and free) submitted by users. Very often, his songs mock the users and their requests. With his wit, and uncanny ability to pronounce typos and grammar mistakes, he is definitely worth a listen.

Listen to "This Girl" or "When a Cow Snapping Over Friend Chiken XD" by Songs To Wear Pants To.

3. There, I Fixed It

Recently introduced to me, a site filled with images of amusing, ingenious or stupid fixes of things. Like this, the best fire alarm ever.

4. Bash.org

Known to most regular 'net users, Bash.org is a collection of quotes from the chat client IRC. Wile away the work hours by reading the top 100, or just clicking random over and over.

Here are a couple of my favourites:

Hey, you know what sucks in a metaphorical sense?

Hey, you know what just isn't cool?

There are, of course, many, many fantastic and hilarious websites you can spend hours over when you should be doing something constructive, but these are my top four at the moment.
