World's Best Concealer For The Freakishly Pale.

To kick off the new rating system and whatnot, I'm going to start by reviewing my newest 1337 product.

If you're pale-skinned and don't want to look like a tangerine, finding a suitable foundation can be pretty damn tricky. Trickier still, your concealer should always be one shade lighter than your foundation, which seems great in theory until you find out that most cosmetic companies only make two or three shades of concealer, tops. Pain in the butt, right?

But no longer! Thanks to Bobbi Brown, who I previously never really noticed.

The Best Concealer Ever, 4srs.

Price: £14.68
Availability: Bobbi or Bobbi Brown stores/counters
Packaging: 4/5 Not a work of art, but it's very practical and high quality, and nice and sleek.
Quality: 5/5
Value: 5/5

So, What is It?:
Bobbi Brown do a whole range of concealers. Technically the product I'm looking at isn't concealer, it's their cream Corrector, which is pink-based instead of yellow-based and is designed to be used on very heavy under-eye circles under their regular yellow-based Creamy Concealer. But screw that! Turns out it's friggin' amazing as an all-round-everything-super-duper concealer if you just have pale skin with cool pink undertones.

What I Love About It:
  • Consistency
It's really thick, which is what you want from a concealer, and tends to be the way with cream concealers rather than their pansy-ass liquid counterparts. The thickness means that it goes a very long way, and is buildable for covering blemishes, so it's better value than it seems. My favourite thing about these concealers is that, unlike most creams and gel products, you can use them over a powder and it doesn't congeal on your face. That, alone, makes it worth the price tag to me.
  • Packaging
Also, the packaging is incredibly useful, it's a tiny round compact with a mirror in the lid. How helpful is that? Obviously the two things you need if you need to touch-up are a mirror and your concealer, so Bobbi Brown stuck them both together for us, thanks.
  • Shade Selection
They do a heck of a lot of shades. If you're cool-pink based like me with pale skin, the Corrector is the one for you. But if you've yellow-based skin, go for the cream concealers, which have the same packaging and wonderful consistency. Either way, Bobbi Brown make their Corrector in 9 shades ranging from the freakishly pale (me) to the much darker skin tones. Their Creamy Concealer comes in a whopping 12 shades. Even though these guys are owned by Estée Lauder, who own MAC, their pale shades run A LOT paler than MAC's palest NC15, which is too dark for me. is perfect for you. If you're warm yellow-based, you'll want to select your shade from their ordinary

What I Hate About It:
The price. That's it, it's just shy of £15 which seems like a lot when you see how tiny the pot looks, but it does last a very long time, and a good concealer can rescue a very bad face, so it's absolutely one of my holy-grail 1337 products.

Is It Really Worth It?: Yes. If you haven't yet found your perfect concealer, try these. If you're not sure what shade to go for, try to track down a sample and try it out, because they do more than enough shades.

The Bottom Line:

This gets...
5/5 Internets & 1337 Favourite Status

Awesome! I too have freakishly pale skin, and with very pink undertones. I'm going to have to try this out. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review. I have very pale skin and it's so hard to find a concealer that's pale enough for me. I'll definitely try this.

I may have to give this a try!
I have very pale skin, and the best concealer I've been able to find has been UD's 24/7 in CIA. Now, it works very well for me, but I'm definitely open to trying new things ;>

Ana I've been looking for a "new" concealer and I have a BB concealer palette right in my makeup stash. Maybe teh best things in life are right up under your nose.

I have the face touch-up palette, which came with a concealer (bisque), concealer (warm natural), pressed powder (pale yellow sheer) and foundation stick (warm natural). It sounds like a lot and it is but it sits literally in the palm of your hand.

I bought it because it had everything a girl could need for a face touch up or if you were traveling. Hmmm I wonder if she still makes these?

I'll have to try this. I'm very pale like you but I have a lot of redness on my nose and cheeks plus dark circles so I'm all about concealers. I've yet to find "the one." I think that a concealer that suits my skin tone, has decent coverage and has a nice enough texture that I can wear it on my nose and priceless. And apparently quite hard to find :(
