I bought my first Sleek iDivine Palette from Superdrug the other day, and couldn't wait to try it out. Unfortunately, when I got it home I realised that, instead of the light green and dark green in the palette above, mine had just 2 of the same dark green!
I'd already torn open the box and tested them all on the back of my hand, but thankfully Superdrug didn't quibble at all over exchanging it for me for a correct one.
I waited until I'd done a look with this palette and worn it for a day so I could test it thoroughly, and see if it was the bargain I was hoping. It was! =D Here's the full review:
Sleek iDivine Palette - Chaos
Sleek iDivine Eyeshadow Palette in ChaosPrice: £4.49 ($9 US)
Look & Feel: 4/5
Quality: 4/5
Value: 5/5
What It Is:
A 12-colour eyeshadow palette by Sleek Cosmetics. Sleek Cosmetics designed their products for Afro-Caribbean women, so for that reason their eyeshadows are very pigmented, as darker skin absorbs colour. The palette is quite big, it measures 8cm x 14cm, and each eyeshadow is roughly 2cm in diameter and 1.1g - a decent size for the price. Each palette comes in a hinged case with a mirror on the reverse of the lid (which you can angle, because of the hinge), a long double-ended sponge-tipped applicator, and the 12 eyeshadows.
Sleek's iDivine Palettes come in 3 colours - Chaos, a collection of brightly pigmented matte eyeshadows; Divine, a collection of metallic, subtle/colourful tones with shimmer; Storm, a collection of subtle browns and neutral shades with metallic shimmer.
They're £4.49 each and sold in Superdrug.
What I Love About It:
Everything! The price, the quality, the colours, the collections. I love that the make-up is so pigmented and strong in colour, I love the selection in each palette, they're different enough to give great variety but they can still all work together beautifully. I love the staying power - they stayed on all day, even after rubbing my eyes. I love the angled mirror, because it's really handy to not have to hold it at an awkward angle to see, and it's a really wide mirror as well. Normally I don't like flat eyeshadow cakes so much because I have a harder time getting the amount I want onto the brush, but these are quite soft and lift easily.
For that reason, I worried this palette would break easily (I'm always breaking my eyeshadows) - but then I accidentally swept it off my desk, and sent it whacking onto a wooden floor, bouncing several times and skidding into a wall (horror!) - and it survived perfectly! Not a scratch! Not a single eyeshadow damaged =D
And THE PRICE! £4.49 for TWELVE full-size eyeshadows?! Yowza.
As soon as I get paid I'm off to buy the other two!
What I Hate About It:
Absolutely nothing! The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't get the yellow to show up on my lids, but that could be because of darker powder residue on my brush, all the others went on great.
Is It Really Worth It?:
Absolutely! Yes yes yes! Even if it were 3x the price it'd still be a bargain.

This palette sounds amazing. I so want it!! I'm sorry yours had 2 eyeshadows of the same color, but at least they exchanged with no problems.
4 September 2008 15:03It is great. Once I get paid, I'll buy the rest, swatch and offer to CP them to people :3
4 September 2008 15:04I can't wait to get my hands on one of these this weekend!
4 September 2008 18:56(my local superdrug doesn't carry this brand because the store is TINY lol)
Although i went in there today, and they had this new display for something called BeautyUK. Can't say i've ever heard of it but they had these mini 10 colour eyeshadow palettes for only £2.99. Everything was all sealed in plastic so i couldn't check how good the quality was. so i thought, what the hell, buy one lol. Yet to try it out though :D
xoxo
Omg, I bought those too, aha. I wasn't super-impressed with the quality but I haven't really given it a proper use yet or tried the BeautyUK stuff in any looks (I bought a bunch of Barry M at the same time so got distracted).
4 September 2008 20:19I wish Boots sold Sleek, then I'd get my advantage card points =[
Come payday I'll be reviewing the rest of their palettes, some pigments and gel eyeliners too.
This is what I exactly think of these amazing palettes from Sleek. I have also reviewed these palettes, check it out if you like to :)
